I am very proud to announce that my self portrait has been selected for the exhibition 'Weekend van het Portret' by De Nederlandse Portretprijs. Out of 502 paintings that participated the competition, the jury chose 112 Self Portraits in 2D and 3D made by Dutch artists. You are more than welcome to visit the exhibition 'Oog in Oog'. Hope to meet you there during the official opening on friday 31 august 16.00 hours. Or in case you can not make it at the closure drink at sunday at 16.00 hours. Hope to see you in real live  :-)

Kom ook naar het Weekend van het Portret, van 31 augustus tot en met 2 september in Loods6 te Amsterdam.

Op ​vrijdag 31 augustus 2018 om 16:00 wil ik je uitnodigen voor de feestelijke opening

van het Weekend van het Portret 2018 en de tentoonstelling "Oog in Oog" in Loods 6,
KNSM-laan 143 te Amsterdam. Tijdens dit weekend vol lezingen, minicolleges, presentaties en een unieke expositie wordt de bezoeker meegenomen in de wereld van de hedendaagse zelfportretkunst in Nederland.
Na twee succesvolle eerdere edities is ook deze expositie veelbelovend. Maar liefst 502 zelfportretten werden ingezonden in de categorieën 2D en 3D. Daaruit heeft een speciale selectiecommissie een selectie van ruim honderd portretten gemaakt die de diversiteit en kwaliteit van de hedendaagse Nederlandse portretkunst laten zien.
De openingstoespraak wordt verzorgd door Hedy d'Ancona, oud-minister van Cultuur en lid van de commissie van aanbeveling van de Nederlandse Portretprijs. Wij hopen op deze opening alle deelnemende kunstenaars, partners, sponsors, raad van toezicht, de commissie van aanbeveling, de selectiecommissie en het bestuur te kunnen begroeten. Een introducé is welkom.

Last summer I joined the competition to portray the Mayor of the city Utrecht. Today installed his portrait and the study I painted of the Mayor in the City Hall. Starting tomorrow you can go there and see all different portraits of the Artists that joined the competition. Unfortunately they didn't choose my work. My goal was to win this competition so my work would hang next to my great inspiration of the last century 'Isaac Israels' a very famous Dutch painter I admire.

This morning installed the Window Exhibition at Busker Bergen, end of this day already 
SOLD the first large beach painting. Wow what a great start of the Art week Bergen. Very happy with it.

Today SOLD this lovely painting. Will miss this one, it was one of my favorite paintings I painted last year during the painting Festival in Noordwijk. Very good to see the new owner was so happy I was willing to sell it to her. I know for sure this one goes to a great art lover.

During the International Painting Festival Noordwijk we were located at beach pavilion 'De Zeester'. When I discovered these lovely 3 kids painting outdoors like we did, I had to paint them and capture this moment before it was gone.
